Party for the People

On Monday, September 7, at 2pm, join the Labor Day Party for the People to celebrate all the hard-working people who have made our country great. It’s free, family friendly, and has lots of fun activities. The party is at Steamboat Landing Park on the Belfast, Maine, waterfront from 2 PM - 5 PM.

There will be lots of entertainment, and quite a few groups you can talk to and learn more about what makes our community so caring and giving.

The Party includes live music, food, fun, community, and games:

  • A chili cookoff - Homemade chili chefs will compete for bragging rights and “Best” awards in categories including vegetarian, classic, and most innovative. Activate your taste buds to help judge!
  • Free bike clinic by The Belfast Repair Café
  • Dance or kick back to lively music of local favorite band BookHead SweetTooth
  • Check out the great foods from Big Daddy’s Hot Box and Joshua and Dakota’s Cantina! Bring your blanket and have a picnic, or, just use the tables.
  • Games include a frisbee zone for all, and a kids’ games area with parent supervisors
  • Grab your muse and express yourself in our community art project

And it’s a very special treat to visit with people in our community who provide many services to help all of us. Wander around to various tables and chat, see what’s going on and what opportunities are available in our wonderful, supportive Waldo community, and even register to vote!
